Technical Specifications & Security Protocols

BlueWallet is architected for self-sovereignty. Below are the technical capabilities available via the Web and Desktop access points.

Desktop Control Center

The desktop variant allows for granular coin control and fee management (RBF/CPFP) which are essential for high-frequency users.

Supported OS: Windows 10/11, macOS (Intel/Silicon), Linux (Debian/RPM)

Encryption: AES-256 (Local)

Connectivity: Tor/Clearnet via Electrum Personal Server

Multisig Vaults

create highly secure vaults requiring multiple keys to authorize a transaction. This is ideal for cold storage and large amounts.

Our Web Access portal allows you to import "Watch-Only" xPubs from these vaults to generate deposit addresses without bringing your keys online.

Lightning Network (LndHub)

BlueWallet uses LndHub, an open-source protocol for connecting wallets to Lightning Nodes. The Web Interface acts as a direct client for your LndHub instance.
